Jasper County Scanner Feed May Go Silent By Years End

Due to the implementation of the new Nexedge digital radio system in the works, the Jasper County scanner feed may go silent by years end.  This move will benefit the public safety community in the area and provide interoperable communications among all agencies in the county.

A lot of the feed listeners log on strictly for weather related purposes. I will look at some options on what can be monitored and would most benefit the listeners concerning severe weather coverage and go from there.  I will update as soon as the change is made.

Deputy takes gun fire during pursuit

A Jasper County Deputy was fired upon from a vehicle during a pursuit Friday night. According to news reports the suspect is possibly Dennis Goode, who is a suspect in a home invasion in Ottawa County and suspected of burglaries in Newton County. The suspect vehicle is a red Ford Pickup. Should be considered armed and dangerous.

Update * Suspect apprehended in Branson early this morning.

$500 reward for info on theft suspect

Someone out there can identify this suspect. Notice the Beard and style of shoes. If so contact Jasper County Sheriffs Office 417-358-8177.  Wanted for theft and damages.  $500.00 reward from Zimmerman Radio.

Agencies in SW Missouri going to the MOSWIN system

I have been getting some questions on agencies in Newton and Barry County going off air.
Here is some information about the MOSWIN setup. Quite a few agencies are joining the statewide
system.

Jasper County Sheriff Going to Digital Radios

The Jasper County Sheriffs Dept will also be migrating to the Kenwood Nexedge digital radio system. Time frame unknown until switchover.

JCS stats

JCS continues to attract more and more listeners. Above is a RR generated graph showing max listeners per hour. We reached a new peak of 10, not bad for relatively small agencies to listen to. I also indicated the evening traffic, not surprisingly this is the busiest time.

Winter Wx threatens SW Missouri.

A strong storm system will bring heavy snow to the area this afternoon and evening. Road conditions will rapidly deteriorate as the rain transitions to sleet and then snow.

Police and EMS will be extremely busy once the storm sets in. Log on and listen.
