KZRG, The radio station that brought us uninterrupted coverage of the Joplin tornado, now offers text alerts for severe weather, traffic, school closings, and sports. Although I already subscribe to weather alerts through another site I did sign up for the local traffic and news alerts through KZRG. The station served as a local portal of information for volunteer help and a way for local government to get information to the public after the tornado.
